ABOUT
ISYA is the long running solo project of Jake Brown, a veteran of Florida punk and post hardcore bands since the late 1990s including Moments In Grace and Washington DC’s Decahedron. First emerging in 2005, ISYA became Brown’s outlet for his most extreme ideas: a collision of industrial electronics, machine punk, noise, digital hardcore and pure nervous system overload.
Originally built from self recorded demos traded through MySpace pages, burned CDs and obscure internet circles, ISYA evolved into a volatile one person live experience centered around improvisation, violent lighting, hypnosis imagery and chaotic energy. Influenced by artists like The Locust, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Combatwoundedveteran, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy and Big Black, the project channels the same confrontational spirit and explosive live intensity that defined Brown’s earlier work while pushing deeper into electronics, hypnotic repetition and alien atmosphere.
ISYA has shared stages with artists including Godflesh, Planning for Burial, Bestial Mouths, Andy Laplega, Glass Chapel and Severed+Said while performing throughout Florida’s DIY, underground and art space communities.
