ABOUT
ISYA, short for I Send You Away, is the long running alter ego of Jake Brown, a veteran of both the underground and mainstream music scenes. Brown has been involved in projects including Moments in Grace (Atlantic), Decahedron (Lovitt), Twothirtyeight (Tooth and Nail), and En Masse (Pop Up).
The project began in 2006 as a recording outlet and gradually hardened into something heavier and harder to place. Early material was rooted in chaos and abrasion, drawing influence from noise and extreme punk acts like The Locust and The Flying Luttenbachers.
Today ISYA operates in an industrial and machine punk space. The sound is rigid, physical, and stark, driven by repetition and pressure with a distinctly unhinged edge. Echoes of Skinny Puppy, Big Black, Front 242, and Nitzer Ebb are present, but refracted into something colder and more alien.
The live show has become the core of the project, earning a growing reputation for its visceral impact. ISYA is often likened to Skinny Puppy or Nine Inch Nails live, while sharing ground with modern contemporaries like Author and Punisher and Machine Girl, yet remaining firmly its own thing.
